Description
Marcelline is an actress. Forty, single and childless, she begins rehearsals for Turgenev’s ‘A month in the country’. Denis, the director, promises Marcelline that she will be very successful on the stage, and introduces her to his assistant, Nathalie. The two women were at drama school together twenty years earlier, but Nathalie gave up acting for her husband and children. Each woman envies the other for the life she has, and their meeting is the first in a series of tremors that will turn Marcelline’s life upside down.
