Description
Paul is an assistant professor of philosophy, disenchanted with teaching and distracted enough that he can’t finish the dissertation that would allow him to become a full professor. He is trying to work up the courage to break up with Esther, his girlfriend of nearly ten years, because he’s smitten with Sylvia, his best friend Nathan’s girlfriend, with whom he had a brief fling two years ago. However, once Paul breaks up with Esther, he starts chasing after two different women.
