Description
In 1616, a tiny village in Flanders is invaded by Spanish troops. The townsfolk have heard of Spanish cruelties in other towns, and the mayor decides to deflect the vanquishers by getting everyone to play dead. This isn’t terribly effective, so the mayor’s wife tries to soften up the invaders with a lavish carnival.
