In a refugee camp near the Iraq-Turkey border, everyone is waiting nervously to hear whether the US army will invade – but ‘Satellite’, a young boy nicknamed for his obsession with technology, finds his attention diverted by an orphan girl, Agrin, who wanders into the refugee camp with her armless older brother, Henkov, and a little boy who is nearly blind.
