Description
When an oil well in South America catches fire, the company offers a wage of $2000 to transport highly volatile nitroglycerine shipments across 300 miles of treacherous terrain. Through expository dialogue, tense interactions and flashbacks, the audience becomes intimately acquainted with the four drivers who sign up for this death-defying mission: Corsican Yves Montand, Italian Folco Lulli, German Peter Van Eyck, and Frenchman Charles Vanel.
