Elia Suleiman presents a handful of autobiographical short stories that offer a witty but thoughtful perspective on the place of Palestinians in Israel in this comedy drama. Inspired by the journals kept by Suleiman’s father and the director’s own memories, the film attempts to portray the daily life of those Palestinians who remained and were labelled ‘Israeli-Arabs’, living as a minority in their own homeland.
