Description
Domenico is in love with Filumena, but he refuses to make their union legal, and expects her to behave like a servant by day and a mistress by night. Years later, when Filumena lies on her deathbed, Domenico finally consents to marry her. She makes a full recovery, and brings her three grown sons to live with them after the wedding. He tries to weasel out of the arrangement, but is mollified by Filumena insisting that all three boys are his sons.
