Description
Description
Porterhouse College, Cambridge is a deeply traditional and conservative institution steeped in five hundred years of tradition. When the Head Master dies without naming his successor, the government appoints state-educated politician and Porterhouse alumnus Sir Godber Evans, who is determined to drag the college into the twentieth century. The elderly academic staff cease their bickering and close ranks against him, but the new Master finds his most implacable and unscrupulous opponent in Skullion, the college porter.
