Made in 1984 when Švankmajer was barely known outside of his home country, producer Keith Griffiths embarked on a mission to explore his work, with its deep routes in art history, surrealism and Gothic literature.
Includes the surreal short stop-motion film by the Brothers Quay, an homage to the influential short film maker.
