Based on the famous suspense novel, The Lodger presents the story of a family that rents a room to a mysterious stranger at the time when Jack the Ripper terrorized London. They begin to have the chilling suspicion that their boarder might be the mass murderer. This is also the first film in which Hitchcock made his now traditional cameo appearance.
