Confidence trickster Johnny Hooker’s friend and mentor Luther Coleman is murdered by racketeer/gambler Doyle Lonnegan. Hoping to avenge Luther’s death, Johnny begins planning a “sting” – an elaborate scam – to destroy Lonnegan.
