Description
In French Indochina in 1931, a young French widow and her adolescent son and daughter attempt to carve out a life for themselves by farming rice fields, but each year the ocean floods the fields with saltwater and destroys the crops. Their only hope lies in the construction of a sea wall to prevent continued flooding, but first they must tackle the complex local bureaucracy.
